There is no school on Friday, April 19 for Good Friday.

We know the importance of teachers in our communities. Help us say thanks to an outstanding teacher you know who gives back to students, their school and our community. Rules:
-Each class will have a jar in the office. (Pre-K through 6th grade)
-Gather as many pennies as possible!
-Silver coins or bills will cancel out the pennies, for example $1.00 bill cancels 100 pennies.
-You would want to put the silver coins and bills in the other class jars to cancel out their pennies, hence Penny Wars!!!
-The Penny War will start April 15th and end April 26th.
-The winning class will get root beer floats sponsored by A&W!

Athletic Physicals have been rescheduled to April 24th starting at 8:30 AM. There is still time to get a form turned in if you would like your child to participate. Do you like learning about different places in the world? Are you interested in learning about the animals that live in other countries? Do you enjoy finding out about important people in foreign lands? Do you like looking at maps? Do you dream of traveling the world? If so, you may be interested in the Geography Bee. Webster 4th- 8th graders are eligible for the 2019-2020 school year. Thursday, May 16th at 2:45 will be the 5th grade band recital in the HS band room.
 
This month students in 3-8 and 11th grade will be taking the Smarter Balanced Assessment. Please make sure that your student(s) get a good night's rest and a filling breakfast throughout their week. Also, attendance is our priority during Smarter Balanced testing. Please plan your weeks accordingly. Students are allowed to have a book, water bottle, personal headphones and a pencil during their testing sessions. The testing schedule is as follows:
April 8th-11th: the 7th and 8th grade test
April 15th-18th: the 5th and 6th grade test
April 22nd-26th: the 3rd, 4th, and 11th grade test
April 22nd: 8th grade will also take the SD Science test

 
Title 1 Fun Night will be held on Thursday, April 25 from 6:30-7:30 in the elementary commons area.
 
April 18 - Lunch: Meatballs & Gravy, Mashed Potatoes, Dinner Roll, Salad Bar and Milk.
April 22 - Breakfast: Breakfast Wrap or Cereal, Fruit, Juice and Milk. Lunch: Mac & Cheese, Glazed carrots, salad bar, milk
April 26 - Lunch: Diced Chicken Gravy with Biscuits.
 
The Jog-a-Thon is on Thursday, April 18th at the Armory.
Pledge packets will be sent home on the 18th and are due back to school on Friday, April 26th. All funds raised will go toward the Outdoor Classroom Project campaign.
 
The calendar was amended during the school board meeting on April 15th.
* School will be IN SESSION on Monday, April 22nd.
* The final day of school will be Friday, May 24th (12:00 PM dismissal)
* Tuesday, May 28 and Wednesday, May 29 will be teacher in-service.

 
SDSU is hosting a summer reading and writing program for students in Preschool through 12th Grade. Each program is structured towards the developmental level of the child. For more information, please see the following document.
 
The doors open at 7:50 AM and lock again at 8:20 AM on school days. The doors again open at 3:15 PM and lock again at 8:00 PM daily. The security doors are locked at the main entrances on weekends. Please remember that playground supervision begins at 8:00 AM daily. Students arriving to school prior to 7:50 AM will be required to stay in the entrance area until the doors unlock. Staff shall not allow students in the building prior to this time as there is no scheduled supervision available. Please contact the school if you have any questions regarding the security doors or arrival times in the morning. Thank you.
 
New this year! Elementary Student Council Fundraiser will be Webster Elementary Yearbooks. There is still time to order. Pick up a form in the office.
 
The school district began utilizing Efunds to accept online payments for lunch accounts and armory key card renewals.

If you would like to make online payments, an account can be created through Efunds which is located under Popular Topics on the school district website. Once an account is created a student can be linked to your account using their five digit student number, first name, and last name. If you do not know your child's five digit student ID number, please contact the Business Office at 345-3548.
 
Reminder that no student, not on the bus route, may ride the bus without a parent/guardian note to the driver or the parent/guardian contacting Sheyenne Transport to make prior arrangements.
