Fees

ACT Test - $46.00

ACT plus writing - $62.50

Fee Waivers to pay for the tests are available for students that meet low income guide lines. See Mrs. Miller for details.

Register for the ACT College Board Exam online:

1. You will need a digital photograph with a close up of your face
2. Go to http://www.actstudent.org
3. Create an account or log in to an existing account
4. Click Registration on the menu under the ACT logo
5. Choose the "sign up online" option
6. Complete the application

Online registration is faster than the mail option and has the same fees. The student will know immediately if the preferred test center has seating available. The admission ticket can be printed from the website.

*Extended time may be available for those that qualify on an IEP.

Technical Institute Entrance Test Information

SENIORS: For students planning to apply at Lake Area Tech, Watertown, and have not taken ACTs or don't plan to take them--you will need to take the KAPLAN, TABE or COMPASS tests...Mrs. Miller will make appointments for testing. You will be given the TABE or COMPASS depending on your anticipated program of study.

No cost for the TABE and Compass testing for students that have applied to the technical institute.

KAPLAN exams are $35 and must be paid prior to exam. (for Nursing)

Students are allowed to test twice in a calendar year. No minimum number of days between Compass and TABE tests. CNET and KAPLAN require 30 days between tests because it is the same test given twice.

The following programs require the TABE test if an ACT score is low or not available: Automotive Technology, Building Trades Technology, Cosmetology, Custom Paint & Fab., Dental Assisting, Diesel Technology, Human Services Technician, Precision Machining and Welding Technology

The following programs require the Compass test if and ACT score is low or not available: Agriculture, Aviation Maintenance Technology, Business Associate, Computer Information Systems, Drafting Technology, Electronic Systems Technology, Entrepreneurship, Environmental Technology, Energy Operations, Energy Technology, Financial Services, Human Services Academic, Medical Assisting, Med/Fire Rescue, Medical Lab Tech, Occupational Therapy Assistant, Physical Therapy Assistant, and Robotics.
