Homecoming Week September 14-18

The WAHS Student Council is looking forward to Homecoming week! If you are on the ineligible list, you will not be able to participate during game day and float building.

Thursday - Hawaiian Day (MS/HS)

Friday - Spirit Day! Float Building along with donut sales from 8:20 - 10:20. Ironman Volleyball at 11:00 AM in the HS Gym. Parade Line-up at 1:00 PM with a start time of 1:30 PM. Friday Night Lights with the Webster Bearcats vs. Florence/Henry Falcons HS Football Game Kickoff at 7:00 PM.

Bearcat Fan/Spectator Expectations: All children is 3rd grade and under are expected to be seated in the bleachers with an adult. Students in grade 4-12 are expected to be standing or sitting in the student section and be conducting themselves in an appropriate manner. Students are NOT permitted to run around, play under the bleachers, play football, or other physical games on the premises during a varsity game. Watching and cheering on the Bearcats is the main part of attending the games. Fabs need to understand that a ticket to the game is a privilege to observe the contest. Sportsmanship is expected not only from the athletes participating on the field, but also from the fans in the stands. Fans who are aggressive or obnoxious may be asked to leave the venue.

Message from the wrestling coaches: We will be doing Open Mats on Mondays @ 7pm in the armory all throughout these preseason months for any kids who want to attend. These would be perfect opportunities for kids who may want to join to come; new joins are welcome to come poke around and see what wrestling is all about, or even just to meet and talk with the coaches. No shoes or headgear required. Just show up!

When to stay home and when to return to school after sickness. News from the nurse

Flu Shot Clinic-Day County Department of Health will be hosting a Flu Shot clinic for students and staff at Webster Area School in the elementary office on October 16th starting at 9 am. Signed forms are due to the office by October 13th only if you want your child to receive a flu vaccine. Department of Health will bill your insurance, so a FRONT AND BACK copy of your insurance card is needed with the consent form. Again, this is only if you WANT your child to receive a vaccine. SD College Campus Visit Days: Juniors and Seniors get two college visit days. You must go to the College website to register for the visit days.

Check with Mrs. Larson for upcoming Tech Days and Camps 

Southeast Tech:  11-12 Grade Opportunities- Campus Visit Days – We host Campus Visit Days on October 9, November 6, February 5, and March 5. These days are for juniors and seniors interested in attending Southeast Tech who want to learn more about a particular program, meet faculty, and see our lab spaces. Students will explore their main degree of interest and register online. Registration is free, and lunch is provided!

9-12 Grade Opportunities - Career Exploration Days – We host Career Exploration Days on December 16 and May 12. These days are for students in grades 9–12. They select a particular camp (Healthcare, Transportation, Professional Studies, etc.) and within the camp, will explore the programs we offer related to these career fields. Students will start and end at the same time and location, but they will split up into their camps across campus during the day. Students can register individually online or ask Mrs. Larson.

Federal Regulation: Due to federal regulations, drinks other than water and milk are not allowed in the lunchroom for students.

Student Accident Insurance: Student accident insurance provides financial assistance with your out-of-pocket medical expenses when your student sustains an accidental bodily injury. Available for all students PS-12. The Webster Area School no longer receives the insurance envelopes to distribute to students. It is all online. Student Accident Insurance flyer

Message Regarding School Deliveries: The school is NOT accepting deliveries from flower shops, please make other arrangements and do not request the businesses to deliver to the school.
