Just a reminder regarding your child and illness. If your child has a fever, please keep them home and do not return until they are 24 hours fever free WITHOUT THE USE OF MEDICATION such as tylenol or ibuprofen. If they have not been fever free without use of medication for 24 hours they are still contagious and end up sharing that illness with other students. Also, if they are coughing excessively please keep them home as this spreads illness rapidly as well. If they have vomited or had diarrhea please keep them home for 24 hours after the symptoms resolve. If you have any questions feel free to contact me at 345-4651 or by email Heather.Gaikowski@k12.sd.us. Spring cannot come soon enough! Thank You

Each year I receive a Doodle for Google packet and kids can design a google doodle that will make it on the google home page if they win. Also students have a chance to win either a scholarship for college or a scholarship and a technology grant for their school. If anyone is interested in doing this please contact your classroom teacher.

The elementary/middle school student council, along with Tailfeather Photography will be putting together a 2019 - 2020 yearbook for grades preschool - 5th grade. The cost of the yearbook would be $25.00 (includes tax). We need at least 50 yearbooks sold to make this a go. If interested, we will send an order form home with your child. Any questions, please contact Stacey at 345-2550.
Families in our school district are eligible to participate in a no-cost Kindergarten Readiness program. This unique opportunity for South Dakota families allows for participation in the Waterford UPSTART program to support home-based kindergarten readiness delivered via technology. When parents are given the tools and knowledge to support their children, everyone wins. Every parent is empowered as their child's first teacher right in the home.

FREE to both families and school districts, this program is funded through a grant from the U.S. Department of Education called Education, Research, and Innovation (EIR).

Families can register for Waterford UPSTART directly by completing the pre-registration form online at www.waterfordupstart.org or by calling 1-888-982-9898.
This is a reminder for students to be dropped off and picked up on the North side of the school. Not where the buses unload. Thank you!
